The Burrowing Owls of Cape Coral made national television.  NatGeoWild has a new show called the United States of Animals.  This past Fridays” show May 6th 2016, The Wolves of Wall Street, had a segment on the Burrowing Owls of Cape Coral.  Several members of Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife had cameo appearances on the show.  It was great publicity of our treasured owls.

If you missed the show, it will be aired again on Tuesday, May 1th at 10p.m.  You will have to check your local listings for the channel for NatGeoWild (not the National Geographic channel)

    Hi Beverly. Thank you for your comment and telling me about the black eyed owls. I had thought that the young ones must have black eyes and they turned yellow as they matured. It was so interesting to learn that the dark eyes are recessions Ve and due to inbreeding. I will try to do a follow up post later incorporating your comment in case some of my followers missed it. (I already have one more owl post for later this week, but I am away from home right now and can’t fix that post. (I’m on my IPad here and can’t blog from it. ). Thank you again. I’m honored and grateful that you read my post. (You led us on an owl tour the first season we spent here.. And taught us so much. Thanks for all you do!
